Joshua 14:9-11

⁹And Moses swore on that day, saying, ^(A)‘Surely the land ^(B)on which your foot has trodden shall be an inheritance for you and your children forever, because you have wholly followed the Lord my God.’ ¹⁰And now, behold, the Lord has kept me alive, ^(C)just as he said, these ^(D)forty-five years since the time that the Lord spoke this word to Moses, while Israel walked in the wilderness. And now, behold, I am this day ^(E)eighty-five years old. ¹¹^(F)I am still as strong today as I was in the day that Moses sent me; my strength now is as my strength was then, for war and ^(G)for going and coming.

⁹So on that day Moses swore to me, ‘The land on which your feet have walked will be your inheritance^(A) and that of your children^(B) forever, because you have followed the Lord my God wholeheartedly.’^[a]

¹⁰“Now then, just as the Lord promised,^(C) he has kept me alive for forty-five years since the time he said this to Moses, while Israel moved^(D) about in the wilderness. So here I am today, eighty-five years old!^(E) ¹¹I am still as strong^(F) today as the day Moses sent me out; I’m just as vigorous^(G) to go out to battle now as I was then.
