⁶ All the inhabitants of the hill country from Lebanon as far as ^(A)Misrephoth-maim, all the Sidonians, I will ^[a]drive them out from before the sons of Israel; ^(B)only allot it to Israel for an inheritance as I have commanded you.

⁷ Did You not, O our God, drive out the inhabitants of this land before Your people Israel and ^(A)give it to the descendants of ^(B)Abraham Your friend forever?

⁴⁵ And having received it in their turn, our fathers ^(A)brought it in with ^[a]Joshua upon dispossessing the ^[b]nations whom God drove out before our fathers, until the time of David.
