6 The Gibeonites then sent word to Joshua in the camp at Gilgal:(A) “Do not abandon your servants. Come up to us quickly and save us! Help us, because all the Amorite kings from the hill country have joined forces against us.”
7 So Joshua marched up from Gilgal with his entire army,(B) including all the best fighting men. 8 The Lord said to Joshua, “Do not be afraid(C) of them; I have given them into your hand.(D) Not one of them will be able to withstand you.”(E)
9 After an all-night march from Gilgal, Joshua took them by surprise. 10 The Lord threw them into confusion(F) before Israel,(G) so Joshua and the Israelites defeated them completely at Gibeon.(H) Israel pursued them along the road going up to Beth Horon(I) and cut them down all the way to Azekah(J) and Makkedah.(K) 11 As they fled before Israel on the road down from Beth Horon to Azekah, the Lord hurled large hailstones(L) down on them,(M) and more of them died from the hail than were killed by the swords of the Israelites.

6 Then the men of Gibeon sent word to Joshua in the camp at Gilgal: “Don’t abandon[a] your servants. Come quickly and save us! Help us, for all the Amorite kings living in the hill country have joined forces against us.” 7 So Joshua and his whole military force, including all the fighting men, came from Gilgal.(A)
8 The Lord said to Joshua, “Do not be afraid of them,(B) for I have handed them over to you. Not one of them will be able to stand against you.”
9 So Joshua caught them by surprise, after marching all night from Gilgal. 10 The Lord threw them into confusion(C) before Israel. He defeated them in a great slaughter at Gibeon, chased them through the ascent of Beth-horon, and struck them down as far as Azekah and Makkedah. 11 As they fled before Israel, the Lord threw large hailstones on them(D) from the sky along the descent of Beth-horon all the way to Azekah, and they died. More of them died from the hail than the Israelites killed with the sword.

6 And the men of Gibeon sent unto Joshua to the camp to Gilgal, saying, Slack not thy hand from thy servants; come up to us quickly, and save us, and help us: for all the kings of the Amorites that dwell in the mountains are gathered together against us.
7 So Joshua ascended from Gilgal, he, and all the people of war with him, and all the mighty men of valour.
8 And the Lord said unto Joshua, Fear them not: for I have delivered them into thine hand; there shall not a man of them stand before thee.
9 Joshua therefore came unto them suddenly, and went up from Gilgal all night.
10 And the Lord discomfited them before Israel, and slew them with a great slaughter at Gibeon, and chased them along the way that goeth up to Bethhoron, and smote them to Azekah, and unto Makkedah.
11 And it came to pass, as they fled from before Israel, and were in the going down to Bethhoron, that the Lord cast down great stones from heaven upon them unto Azekah, and they died: they were more which died with hailstones than they whom the children of Israel slew with the sword.
