New American Standard Bible

40 So Joshua struck all the land, (A)the hill country and the [a]Negev and the lowland and the slopes, and (B)all their kings. He left no survivor, but (C)he [b]utterly destroyed all who breathed, just as the Lord, the God of Israel, had commanded.
