26 Nessa ocasião Josué amaldiçoou a cidade em nome de Deus, dizendo:
— Quem tentar construir de novo esta cidade de Jericó
será amaldiçoado pelo Senhor!
Quem puser os alicerces
perderá o filho mais velho!
Quem colocar os portões
perderá o filho mais moço!

26 At that time Joshua pronounced this solemn oath:(A) “Cursed(B) before the Lord is the one who undertakes to rebuild this city, Jericho:
“At the cost of his firstborn son
he will lay its foundations;
at the cost of his youngest
he will set up its gates.”(C)

26 At that time, Joshua made a strong promise. He said, ‘If anyone tries to build Jericho city again, the Lord will punish him as a guilty man. When he starts to build, his oldest son will die. When he puts up the city's gates, his youngest son will die.’
