Joshua 5:2

New English Translation

²At that time the Lord told Joshua, “Make flint knives and circumcise the Israelites once again.”^[a]

Joshua 5:2 tn Heb “return, circumcise the sons of Israel a second time.” The Hebrew term שׁוּב (shuv, “return”) is used here in an adverbial sense to indicate the repetition of an action.

²At that time the Lord said unto Joshua, Make thee sharp knives, and circumcise again the children of Israel the second time.

²At that time the Lord said to Joshua, “Make ^(A)flint knives for yourself, and circumcise the sons of Israel again the second time.”
