16 nước từ nguồn chảy xuống liền dừng lại và dồn thành một khối, dồn ngược đến Thành A-đam, tức thành kế cận, ở phía nam của Thành Xa-rê-than; còn nước chảy về hướng Biển A-ra-ba, tức Biển Chết,[a] hoàn toàn bị đứt rời ra. Thế là đoàn dân đi qua sông, nơi đối ngang Giê-ri-cô.
