²⁰ And Achan answered Joshua, “It is true; I am the one who sinned against the Lord God of Israel. This is what I did:^(A)

⁴ He said, “I have sinned by betraying innocent^[a] blood.” But they said, “What is that to us? See to it yourself.”^(A)

³⁰ Then Saul^[a] said, “I have sinned; yet honor me now before the elders of my people and before Israel, and return with me, so that I may worship the Lord your God.”^(A)

²⁴ Saul said to Samuel, “I have sinned, for I have transgressed the commandment of the Lord and your words because I feared the people and obeyed their voice.^(A)

³⁴ Then Balaam said to the angel of the Lord, “I have sinned, for I did not know that you were standing in the road to oppose me. Now therefore, if it is displeasing to you, I will return home.”^(A)
