¹⁷ And he brought near the clans of Judah, and the clan of the ^(A)Zerahites was taken. And he brought near the clan of the Zerahites man by man, and Zabdi was taken.

²⁰ And the sons of Judah according to their clans were: of Shelah, the clan of the Shelanites; of Perez, the clan of the Perezites; of Zerah, the clan of the Zerahites.

⁴ His daughter-in-law ^(A)Tamar also bore him Perez and Zerah. Judah had five sons in all.

⁵ The ^(B)sons of Perez: Hezron and Hamul. ⁶ The sons of Zerah: Zimri, Ethan, Heman, Calcol, and Dara, five in all. ⁷ The son^[a] of Carmi: Achan, the troubler of Israel, who ^(C)broke faith in the matter of the devoted thing;

³⁰ Afterward his brother came out with the scarlet thread on his hand, and his name was called ^(A)Zerah.
