¹⁰ But Joshua had commanded the army, “Do not give a war cry, do not raise your voices, do not say a word until the day I tell you to shout. Then shout!^(A)”

⁴⁹ I am going to send you what my Father has promised;^(A) but stay in the city until you have been clothed with power from on high.”

⁷ He said to them: “It is not for you to know the times or dates the Father has set by his own authority.^(A)

¹⁶ So this is what the Sovereign Lord says:

²³ so David inquired of the Lord, and he answered, “Do not go straight up, but circle around behind them and attack them in front of the poplar trees. ²⁴ As soon as you hear the sound^(A) of marching in the tops of the poplar trees, move quickly, because that will mean the Lord has gone out in front^(B) of you to strike the Philistine army.”
