² At that time the Lord said to Joshua, “Make ^(A)flint knives and circumcise the sons of Israel a second time.”

⁶ And ^(A)the Lord your God will circumcise your heart and the heart of your offspring, ^(B)so that you will love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul, that you may live.

¹⁶ Circumcise therefore ^(A)the foreskin of your heart, and be no longer ^(B)stubborn.

²⁵ Then ^(A)Zipporah took a ^(B)flint and cut off her son's foreskin and touched Moses'^[a] feet with it and said, “Surely you are a bridegroom of blood to me!”

¹¹ In him also ^(A)you were circumcised with a circumcision made without hands, by ^(B)putting off the body of the flesh, by the circumcision of Christ,

^11 (A)He received the sign of circumcision as a seal of the righteousness that he had by faith while he was still uncircumcised. The purpose was ^(B)to make him the father of all who believe without being circumcised, so that righteousness would be counted to them as well,

¹⁰ This is my covenant, which you shall keep, between me and you and your offspring after you: Every male among you shall be circumcised. ¹¹ You shall be circumcised in the flesh of your foreskins, and it shall be a ^(A)sign of the covenant between me and you. ¹² He who is ^(B)eight days old among you shall be circumcised. Every male throughout your generations, whether born in your house or ^(C)bought with your money from any foreigner who is not of your offspring, ¹³ both he who is born in your house and he who is bought with your money, shall surely be circumcised. So shall my covenant be in your flesh an everlasting covenant. ¹⁴ Any uncircumcised male who is not circumcised in the flesh of his foreskin shall be cut off from his people; he has broken my covenant.”

²⁹ But a Jew is one ^(A)inwardly, and ^(B)circumcision is a matter of the heart, by the Spirit, not by the letter. ^(C)His praise is not from man but from God.
