¹⁵ The commander of the Lord’s army replied, “Take off your sandals, for the place where you are standing is holy.”^(A) And Joshua did so.

⁵ “Do not come any closer,”^(A) God said. “Take off your sandals, for the place where you are standing is holy ground.”^(B)

³² ‘I am the God of your fathers,^(A) the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.’^[a] Moses trembled with fear and did not dare to look.^(B)

³³ “Then the Lord said to him, ‘Take off your sandals, for the place where you are standing is holy ground.^(C)
