⁹ Then Joshua set up twelve stones in the midst of the Jordan, in the place where the feet of the priests who bore the ark of the covenant stood; and they are there to this day.

¹² Then Samuel ^(A)took a stone and set it up between Mizpah and Shen, and called its name ^[a]Ebenezer, saying, “Thus far the Lord has helped us.”

⁹ The poles extended so that the ends of the ^(A)poles of the ark could be seen from the holy place, in front of the inner sanctuary; but they could not be seen from outside. And ^[a]they are there to this day.

³ because the Beerothites fled to ^(A)Gittaim and have been sojourners there until this day.)

²⁵ So it was, from that day forward; he made it a statute and an ordinance for Israel to this day.

²⁶ And the man went to the land of the Hittites, built a city, and called its name Luz, which is its name to this day.

²⁶ Then Joshua ^(A)wrote these words in the Book of the Law of God. And he took ^(B)a large stone, and ^(C)set it up there ^(D)under the oak that was by the sanctuary of the Lord.

⁶ And He buried him in a valley in the land of Moab, opposite Beth Peor; but ^(A)no one knows his grave to this day.

²¹ And the stones shall have the names of the sons of Israel, twelve according to their names, like the engravings of a signet, each one with its own name; they shall be according to the twelve tribes.
