¹⁶ that the waters which came down from upstream stood still, and rose in a heap very far away ^[a]at Adam, the city that is beside ^(A)Zaretan. So the waters that went down ^(B)into the Sea of the Arabah, ^(C)the Salt Sea, failed, and were cut off; and the people crossed over opposite Jericho.

¹³ And it shall come to pass, ^(A)as soon as the soles of the feet of the priests who bear the ark of the Lord, ^(B)the Lord of all the earth, shall rest in the waters of the Jordan, that the waters of the Jordan shall be cut off, the waters that come down from upstream, and they ^(C)shall stand as a heap.”

^46 (A)In the plain of Jordan the king had them cast in clay molds, between ^(B)Succoth and ^(C)Zaretan.

¹² Baana the son of Ahilud, in Taanach, Megiddo, and all Beth Shean, which is beside Zaretan below Jezreel, from Beth Shean to Abel Meholah, as far as the other side of Jokneam;

³ All these joined together in the Valley of Siddim ^(A)(that is, the Salt Sea).

The Previous Command to Enter Canaan

1 These are the words which Moses spoke to all Israel ^(A)on this side of the Jordan in the wilderness, in the ^[a]plain opposite ^[b]Suph, between Paran, Tophel, Laban, Hazeroth, and Dizahab.

^3 (A)Your southern border shall be from the Wilderness of Zin along the border of Edom; then your southern border shall extend eastward to the end of ^(B)the Salt Sea;

²⁴ But the boat was now ^[a]in the middle of the sea, tossed by the waves, for the wind was contrary.

²⁵ Now in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went to them, walking on the sea. ²⁶ And when the disciples saw Him ^(A)walking on the sea, they were troubled, saying, “It is a ghost!” And they cried out for fear.

²⁷ But immediately Jesus spoke to them, saying, ^[b]“Be of good ^(B)cheer! ^[c]It is I; do not be afraid.”

²⁸ And Peter answered Him and said, “Lord, if it is You, command me to come to You on the water.”

²⁹ So He said, “Come.” And when Peter had come down out of the boat, he walked on the water to go to Jesus. ³⁰ But when he saw ^[d]that the wind was boisterous, he was afraid; and beginning to sink he cried out, saying, “Lord, save me!”

³¹ And immediately Jesus stretched out His hand and caught him, and said to him, “O you of ^(C)little faith, why did you doubt?” ³² And when they got into the boat, the wind ceased.

³³ Then those who were in the boat ^[e]came and worshiped Him, saying, “Truly ^(D)You are the Son of God.”
