²⁴ And the people said to Joshua, “The Lord our God we will serve, and his voice we will obey.”

⁷ Then he took the Book of the Covenant and read it in the hearing of the people. And they said, ^(A)“All that the Lord has spoken we will do, and we will be obedient.”

³ Moses came and told the people all the words of the Lord and ^(A)all the rules.^[a] And all the people answered with one voice and said, ^(B)“All the words that the Lord has spoken we will do.”

²⁷ Go near and hear all that the Lord our God will say, and ^(A)speak to us all that the Lord our God will speak to you, and we will hear and do it.’

²⁸ “And the Lord heard your words, when you spoke to me. And the Lord said to me, ‘I have heard the words of this people, which they have spoken to you. ^(B)They are right in all that they have spoken. ^29 (C)Oh that they had such a heart as this always, to fear me and to keep all my commandments, ^(D)that it might go well with them and with their descendants^[a] forever!

^8 (A)All the people answered together and said, “All that the Lord has spoken we will do.” And Moses reported the words of the people to the Lord.
