Joshua 24:17
New International Version
17 It was the Lord our God himself who brought us and our parents up out of Egypt, from that land of slavery,(A) and performed those great signs(B) before our eyes. He protected us on our entire journey and among all the nations through which we traveled.

Praise and Prayer
7 I will tell of the kindnesses(A) of the Lord,
the deeds for which he is to be praised,
according to all the Lord has done for us—
yes, the many good things(B)
he has done for Israel,
according to his compassion(C) and many kindnesses.
8 He said, “Surely they are my people,(D)
children who will be true to me”;
and so he became their Savior.(E)
9 In all their distress he too was distressed,
and the angel(F) of his presence(G) saved them.[a]
In his love and mercy he redeemed(H) them;
he lifted them up and carried(I) them
all the days of old.(J)
10 Yet they rebelled(K)
and grieved his Holy Spirit.(L)
So he turned and became their enemy(M)
and he himself fought(N) against them.
11 Then his people recalled[b] the days of old,
the days of Moses and his people—
where is he who brought them through the sea,(O)
with the shepherd of his flock?(P)
Where is he who set
his Holy Spirit(Q) among them,
12 who sent his glorious arm(R) of power
to be at Moses’ right hand,
who divided the waters(S) before them,
to gain for himself everlasting renown,(T)
13 who led(U) them through the depths?(V)
Like a horse in open country,
they did not stumble;(W)
14 like cattle that go down to the plain,
they were given rest(X) by the Spirit of the Lord.
This is how you guided your people
to make for yourself a glorious name.

Joshua 24:5-14
New International Version
5 “‘Then I sent Moses and Aaron,(A) and I afflicted the Egyptians by what I did there, and I brought you out.(B) 6 When I brought your people out of Egypt, you came to the sea,(C) and the Egyptians pursued them with chariots and horsemen[a](D) as far as the Red Sea.[b](E) 7 But they cried(F) to the Lord for help, and he put darkness(G) between you and the Egyptians; he brought the sea over them and covered them.(H) You saw with your own eyes what I did to the Egyptians.(I) Then you lived in the wilderness for a long time.(J)
8 “‘I brought you to the land of the Amorites(K) who lived east of the Jordan. They fought against you, but I gave them into your hands. I destroyed them from before you, and you took possession of their land.(L) 9 When Balak son of Zippor,(M) the king of Moab, prepared to fight against Israel, he sent for Balaam son of Beor(N) to put a curse on you.(O) 10 But I would not listen to Balaam, so he blessed you(P) again and again, and I delivered you out of his hand.
11 “‘Then you crossed the Jordan(Q) and came to Jericho.(R) The citizens of Jericho fought against you, as did also the Amorites, Perizzites,(S) Canaanites, Hittites, Girgashites, Hivites and Jebusites,(T) but I gave them into your hands.(U) 12 I sent the hornet(V) ahead of you, which drove them out(W) before you—also the two Amorite kings. You did not do it with your own sword and bow.(X) 13 So I gave you a land(Y) on which you did not toil and cities you did not build; and you live in them and eat from vineyards and olive groves that you did not plant.’(Z)
14 “Now fear the Lord(AA) and serve him with all faithfulness.(AB) Throw away the gods(AC) your ancestors worshiped beyond the Euphrates River and in Egypt,(AD) and serve the Lord.
