⁵ The Lord your God himself will push them out^(A) for your sake. He will drive them out^(B) before you, and you will take possession of their land, as the Lord your God promised you.^(C)

⁶ “As for all the inhabitants of the mountain regions from Lebanon to Misrephoth Maim,^(A) that is, all the Sidonians, I myself will drive them out^(B) before the Israelites. Be sure to allocate this land to Israel for an inheritance, as I have instructed you,^(C)

²³ then the Lord will drive out^(A) all these nations^(B) before you, and you will dispossess nations larger and stronger than you.^(C)

¹¹ Obey what I command^(A) you today. I will drive out before you the Amorites, Canaanites, Hittites, Perizzites, Hivites and Jebusites.^(B)

² I will send an angel^(A) before you and drive out the Canaanites, Amorites, Hittites, Perizzites, Hivites and Jebusites.^(B)

¹² “But if you turn away and ally yourselves with the survivors of these nations that remain among you and if you intermarry with them^(A) and associate with them,^{(B) 13} then you may be sure that the Lord your God will no longer drive out^(C) these nations before you. Instead, they will become snares^(D) and traps for you, whips on your backs and thorns in your eyes,^(E) until you perish from this good land,^(F) which the Lord your God has given you.

⁵² drive out all the inhabitants of the land before you. Destroy all their carved images and their cast idols, and demolish all their high places.^{(A) 53} Take possession of the land and settle in it, for I have given you the land to possess.^(B)

³⁰ Little by little I will drive them out before you, until you have increased enough to take possession^(A) of the land.

³¹ “I will establish your borders from the Red Sea^[a] to the Mediterranean Sea,^[b] and from the desert to the Euphrates River.^(B) I will give into your hands the people who live in the land, and you will drive them out^(C) before you.
