¹³ know assuredly that the Lord your God will not continue to drive out these nations before you, but they shall be a snare and a trap for you, a scourge on your sides, and thorns in your eyes, until you perish from this good land that the Lord your God has given you.^(A)

¹⁶ You shall devour all the peoples that the Lord your God is giving over to you, showing them no pity; you shall not serve their gods, for that would be a snare to you.^(A)

⁵⁵ But if you do not drive out the inhabitants of the land from before you, then those whom you let remain shall be as barbs in your eyes and thorns in your sides; they shall trouble you in the land where you are settling.^(A)

³³ They shall not live in your land, lest they make you sin against me, for if you serve their gods, it will surely be a snare to you.”^(A)

²⁶ and that they may escape from the snare of the devil, having been held captive by him to do his will.^[a]

²⁴ they will fall by the edge of the sword and be taken away as captives among all nations, and Jerusalem will be trampled on by the nations, until the times of the nations are fulfilled.^(A)

²⁶ Then all the people, high and low,^[a] and the captains of the forces set out and went to Egypt, for they were afraid of the Chaldeans.^(A)

²¹ The king of Babylon struck them down and put them to death at Riblah in the land of Hamath. So Judah went into exile out of its land.^(A)
