⁸ he said to them, “Go back to your tents with much wealth and with very much livestock, with silver, gold, bronze, and iron, and with much clothing. ^(A)Divide the spoil of your enemies with your brothers.”

²⁷ and ^(A)divide the plunder into two parts between the warriors who went out to battle and all the congregation.

²⁷ And Hezekiah had very great riches and honor, and he made for himself treasuries for silver, for gold, for precious stones, for spices, for shields, and for all kinds of ^(A)costly vessels;

²⁴ Who would listen to you in this matter? ^(A)For as his share is who goes down into the battle, so shall his share be who stays by the baggage. They shall share alike.”

¹⁷ Beware ^(A)lest you say in your heart, ‘My power and the might of my hand have gotten me this wealth.’ ¹⁸ You shall remember the Lord your God, for ^(B)it is he who gives you power to get wealth, ^(C)that he may confirm his covenant that he swore to your fathers, as it is this day.

⁹ a land in which you will eat bread without scarcity, in which you will lack nothing, a land whose stones are iron, and out of whose hills you can dig copper. ¹⁰ And you shall eat and be full, and you shall bless the Lord your God for the good land he has given you.

¹¹ “Take care lest you forget the Lord your God by not keeping his commandments and his rules and his statutes, which I command you today, ^12 (A)lest, when you have eaten and are full and have built good houses and live in them, ¹³ and when your herds and flocks multiply and your silver and gold is multiplied and all that you have is multiplied, ^14 (B)then your heart be lifted up, and you ^(C)forget the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery,

^26 (A)He considered the reproach of Christ greater wealth than the treasures of Egypt, for he was looking to ^(B)the reward.

^58 (A)Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in ^(B)the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord ^(C)your labor is not in vain.
