²⁸ Therefore we said that it will be, when they say this to us or to our generations in time to come, that we may say, ‘Here is the replica of the altar of the Lord which our fathers made, though not for burnt offerings nor for sacrifices; but it is a witness between you and us.’

⁵ who serve ^(A)the copy and ^(B)shadow of the heavenly things, as Moses was divinely instructed when he was about to make the tabernacle. For He said, ^(C)“See that you make all things according to the pattern shown you on the mountain.”

¹⁰ “Son of man, ^(A)describe the ^[a]temple to the house of Israel, that they may be ashamed of their iniquities; and let them measure the pattern. ¹¹ And if they are ashamed of all that they have done, make known to them the design of the ^[b]temple and its arrangement, its exits and its entrances, its entire design and all its ^(B)ordinances, all its forms and all its laws. Write it down in their sight, so that they may keep its whole design and all its ordinances, and ^(C)perform them.

⁴⁰ And ^(A)see to it that you make them according to the pattern which was shown you on the mountain.

¹⁰ Now King Ahaz went to Damascus to meet Tiglath-Pileser king of Assyria, and saw an altar that was at Damascus; and King Ahaz sent to Urijah the priest the design of the altar and its pattern, according to all its workmanship.
