¹³ Then the children of Israel ^(A)sent ^(B)Phinehas the son of Eleazar the priest to the children of Reuben, to the children of Gad, and to half the tribe of Manasseh, into the land of Gilead,

⁷ Now ^(A)when Phinehas ^(B)the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron the priest, saw it, he rose from among the congregation and took a javelin in his hand;

^28 (A)and Phinehas the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron, ^(B)stood before it in those days), saying, “Shall I yet again go out to battle against the children of my brother Benjamin, or shall I cease?”

And the Lord said, “Go up, for tomorrow I will deliver them into your hand.”

²⁵ Eleazar, Aaron’s son, took for himself one of the daughters of Putiel as wife; and ^(A)she bore him Phinehas. These are the heads of the fathers’ houses of the Levites according to their families.

Dealing with a Sinning Brother
