¹¹ And when the Israelites heard that they had built the altar on the border of Canaan at Geliloth near the Jordan on the Israelite side,

¹² If you hear it said about one of the towns the Lord your God is giving you to live in ¹³ that troublemakers^(A) have arisen among you and have led the people of their town astray, saying, “Let us go and worship other gods” (gods you have not known), ¹⁴ then you must inquire, probe and investigate it thoroughly.^(B) And if it is true and it has been proved that this detestable thing has been done among you,^(C)

²⁸ This all happened at Bethany on the other side of the Jordan,^(A) where John was baptizing.

⁷ So the men set out in pursuit of the spies on the road that leads to the fords of the Jordan,^(A) and as soon as the pursuers^(B) had gone out, the gate was shut.

⁵ But you are to seek the place the Lord your God will choose from among all your tribes to put his Name^(A) there for his dwelling.^(B) To that place you must go; ⁶ there bring your burnt offerings and sacrifices, your tithes^(C) and special gifts, what you have vowed^(D) to give and your freewill offerings, and the firstborn of your herds and flocks.^{(E) 7} There, in the presence^(F) of the Lord your God, you and your families shall eat and shall rejoice^(G) in everything you have put your hand to, because the Lord your God has blessed you.

⁸ “Say to them: ‘Any Israelite or any foreigner residing among them who offers a burnt offering or sacrifice ⁹ and does not bring it to the entrance to the tent^(A) of meeting^(B) to sacrifice it to the Lord^(C) must be cut off from the people of Israel.

¹² and saw two angels in white,^(A) seated where Jesus’ body had been, one at the head and the other at the foot.

The Empty Tomb^(A)

20 Early on the first day of the week, while it was still dark, Mary Magdalene^(B) went to the tomb and saw that the stone had been removed from the entrance.^(C)
