⁵ And it happened as the gate was being shut, when it was dark, that the men went out. Where the men went I do not know; pursue them quickly, for you may overtake them.”

^25 (A)Its gates shall not be shut at all by day ^(B)(there shall be no night there).

^12 (A)Along the bank of the river, on this side and that, will grow all kinds of trees used for food; ^(B)their leaves will not wither, and their fruit will not fail. They will bear fruit every month, because their water flows from the sanctuary. Their fruit will be for food, and their leaves for ^(C)medicine.”^[a]

The Healing Waters and Trees

47 Then he brought me back to the door of the ^[a]temple; and there was ^(A)water, flowing from under the threshold of the temple toward the east, for the front of the temple faced east; the water was flowing from under the right side of the temple, south of the altar. ² He brought me out by way of the north gate, and led me around on the outside to the outer gateway that faces ^(B)east; and there was water, running out on the right side.

¹⁹ So it was, at the gates of Jerusalem, as it ^(A)began to be dark before the Sabbath, that I commanded the gates to be shut, and charged that they must not be opened till after the Sabbath. ^(B)Then I posted some of my servants at the gates, so that no burdens would be brought in on the Sabbath day.

⁷ For if the truth of God has increased through my lie to His glory, why am I also still judged as a sinner? ⁸ And why not say, ^(A)“Let us do evil that good may come”?—as we are slanderously reported and as some affirm that we say. Their ^[a]condemnation is just.

⁷ Then the men pursued them by the road to the Jordan, to the fords. And as soon as those who pursued them had gone out, they shut the gate.
