⁸ Then the boundary goes up by ^(A)the Valley of the Son of Hinnom at the southern shoulder of the Jebusite (^(B)that is, Jerusalem). And the boundary goes up to the top of the mountain that lies over against the Valley of Hinnom, on the west, at the northern end of the Valley ^(C)of Rephaim.

¹⁶ Then the boundary goes down to the border of the mountain that overlooks ^(A)the Valley of the Son of Hinnom, which is at the north end of the Valley of ^(B)Rephaim. And it then goes down the ^(C)Valley of Hinnom, south of the shoulder of the Jebusites, and downward to ^(D)En-rogel.

⁶³ But the ^(A)Jebusites, the inhabitants of Jerusalem, ^(B)the people of Judah could not drive out, ^(C)so the Jebusites dwell with the people of Judah at Jerusalem to this day.

¹⁰ But the man would not spend the night. He rose up and departed and arrived opposite ^(A)Jebus (that is, Jerusalem). He had with him a couple of saddled donkeys, and his concubine was with him.

²⁸ Zela, Haeleph, ^(A)Jebus^[a] (that is, Jerusalem), Gibeah^[b] and Kiriath-jearim^[c]—fourteen cities with their villages. This is the inheritance of the people of Benjamin according to its clans.

¹⁰ And he defiled ^(A)Topheth, which is ^(B)in the Valley of the Son of Hinnom, ^(C)that no one might burn his son or his daughter as an offering to ^(D)Molech.^[a]

²¹ But the people of Benjamin did not drive out the Jebusites who lived in Jerusalem, ^(A)so the Jebusites have lived with the people of Benjamin in Jerusalem to this day.

¹⁴ Then Jeremiah came from ^(A)Topheth, where the Lord had sent him to prophesy, ^(B)and he stood in the court of the Lord's house and said to all the people:

⁶ therefore, ^(A)behold, days are coming, declares the Lord, when this place shall no more be called Topheth, or ^(B)the Valley of the Son of Hinnom, but the Valley of Slaughter.
