The Territory of Judah

15 The lot for the tribe of the people of Judah according to their families reached southward to the boundary of Edom, to the wilderness of Zin at the farthest south.^(A)

⁵⁵ But the land shall be apportioned by lot; according to the names of their ancestral tribes they shall inherit.^{(A) 56} Their inheritance shall be apportioned according to lot between the larger and the smaller.”

¹⁹ On the south side, it shall run from Tamar as far as the waters of Meribath-kadesh, from there along the Wadi of Egypt^[a] to the Great Sea. This shall be the south side.^(A)

² Their inheritance was by lot, as the Lord had commanded Moses for the nine and one-half tribes.^(A)

³ your south sector shall extend from the wilderness of Zin along the side of Edom. Your southern boundary shall begin from the end of the Dead Sea^[a] on the east;^{(A) 4} your boundary shall turn south of the ascent of Akrabbim and cross to Zin, and its outer limit shall be south of Kadesh-barnea; then it shall go on to Hazar-addar and cross to Azmon; ⁵ the boundary shall turn from Azmon to the Wadi of Egypt, and its termination shall be at the Sea.^(B)

³⁶ They set out from Ezion-geber and camped in the wilderness of Zin (that is, Kadesh).^{(A) 37} They set out from Kadesh and camped at Mount Hor, on the edge of the land of Edom.^(B)
