⁹ So on that day Moses swore to me, ‘The land on which your feet have walked will be your inheritance^(A) and that of your children^(B) forever, because you have followed the Lord my God wholeheartedly.’^[a]

³ I will give you every place where you set your foot,^(A) as I promised Moses.^(B)

³⁶ except Caleb^(A) son of Jephunneh. He will see it, and I will give him and his descendants the land he set his feet on, because he followed the Lord wholeheartedly.^(B)”

²² not one of those who saw my glory and the signs^(A) I performed in Egypt and in the wilderness but who disobeyed me and tested me ten times^(B)— ²³ not one of them will ever see the land I promised on oath^(C) to their ancestors. No one who has treated me with contempt^(D) will ever see it.^{(E) 24} But because my servant Caleb^(F) has a different spirit and follows me wholeheartedly,^(G) I will bring him into the land he went to, and his descendants will inherit it.^(H)

²² They went up through the Negev and came to Hebron,^(A) where Ahiman, Sheshai and Talmai,^(B) the descendants of Anak,^(C) lived. (Hebron had been built seven years before Zoan in Egypt.)^(D)
