³⁰ Their region extended from ^(A)Mahanaim, through all Bashan, the whole kingdom of Og king of Bashan, and all ^(B)the towns of Jair, which are in Bashan, sixty cities,

²⁶ and from Heshbon to Ramath-mizpeh and Betonim, and from ^(A)Mahanaim to the territory of Debir,^[a]

²¹ Afterward Hezron went in to the daughter of ^(A)Machir the father of Gilead, whom he married when he was sixty years old, and she bore him Segub. ²² And Segub fathered Jair, who had twenty-three cities in the land of Gilead. ^23 (B)But Geshur and Aram took from them Havvoth-jair, Kenath, and its villages, sixty towns. All these were descendants of Machir, the father of Gilead.

^13 (A)The rest of Gilead, and all Bashan, the kingdom of Og, that is, ^(B)all the region of Argob, I gave to the half-tribe of Manasseh. (All that portion of Bashan is called the land of ^(C)Rephaim. ^14 (D)Jair the Manassite took all the region of Argob, that is, Bashan, as far as the border of ^(E)the Geshurites and the Maacathites, and called the villages ^(F)after his own name, Havvoth-jair, as it is to this day.) ¹⁵ To Machir ^(G)I gave Gilead,

³⁹ And the sons of ^(A)Machir the son of Manasseh went to Gilead and captured it, and dispossessed the Amorites who were in it. ⁴⁰ And Moses ^(B)gave Gilead to Machir the son of Manasseh, and he settled in it. ⁴¹ And ^(C)Jair the son of Manasseh went and captured their villages, and called them Havvoth-jair.^[a]
