²⁷ and in the valley Beth-haram, Beth-nimrah, ^(A)Succoth, and Zaphon, the rest of the kingdom of Sihon king of Heshbon, having the Jordan as a boundary, to the lower end of the Sea of ^(B)Chinnereth, eastward beyond the Jordan.

¹¹ And the border shall go down from Shepham to ^(A)Riblah on the east side of Ain. And the border shall go down and reach to the shoulder of ^(B)the Sea of Chinnereth on the east.

^36 (A)Beth-nimrah and Beth-haran, ^(B)fortified cities, and folds for sheep.

¹⁷ But Jacob journeyed to ^(A)Succoth, and built himself a house and made booths for his livestock. Therefore the name of the place is called Succoth.^[a]

² and to the kings who were in the northern hill country, and in the ^(A)Arabah south of ^(B)Chinneroth, and in the lowland, and ^(C)in Naphoth-dor on the ^(D)west,

¹⁷ the Arabah also, with the Jordan as the border, from ^(A)Chinnereth as far as ^(B)the Sea of the Arabah, ^(C)the Salt Sea, under ^(D)the slopes of Pisgah on the east.

Jesus Calls the First Disciples

5 On one occasion, while the crowd was pressing in on him to hear the word of God, he was standing by ^(A)the lake of Gennesaret,

⁴⁶ In the plain of the Jordan the king cast them, in the clay ground between ^(A)Succoth and ^(B)Zarethan.

¹⁴ And he captured a young man of Succoth and questioned him. And he wrote down for him the officials and elders of Succoth, seventy-seven men. ¹⁵ And he came to the men of Succoth and said, “Behold Zebah and Zalmunna, about whom you taunted me, saying, ^(A)‘Are the hands of Zebah and Zalmunna already in your hand, that we should give bread to your men who are exhausted?’” ¹⁶ And he took the elders of the city, and he took thorns of the wilderness and briers and with them taught the men of Succoth a lesson.

⁵ So he said to the men of ^(A)Succoth, “Please give loaves of bread to the people who follow me, for they are exhausted, and I am pursuing after Zebah and Zalmunna, the kings of Midian.” ⁶ And the officials of Succoth said, ^(B)“Are the hands of Zebah and Zalmunna already in your hand, ^(C)that we should give bread to your army?”
