⁴⁶ and were in the valley near Beth Peor east of the Jordan, in the land of Sihon^(A) king of the Amorites, who reigned in Heshbon and was defeated by Moses and the Israelites as they came out of Egypt.

⁹ therefore I will expose the flank of Moab, beginning at its frontier towns—Beth Jeshimoth^(A), Baal Meon^(B) and Kiriathaim^(C)—the glory of that land.

¹⁷ Its western border was the Jordan in the Arabah,^(A) from Kinnereth^(B) to the Sea of the Arabah^(C) (that is, the Dead Sea^(D)), below the slopes of Pisgah.

³ So Israel yoked themselves to^(A) the Baal of Peor.^(B) And the Lord’s anger burned against them.
