Kings Defeated by Joshua
7 And these are the kings of the land whom Joshua and the people of Israel defeated on the west side of the Jordan, from Baal-gad in the Valley of Lebanon to (A)Mount Halak, that rises toward Seir (and Joshua gave their land to the tribes of Israel as a possession (B)according to their allotments, 8 (C)in the hill country, in the lowland, in the Arabah, in the slopes, in the wilderness, and in the Negeb, the land of (D)the Hittites, the Amorites, the Canaanites, the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites): 9 (E)the king of Jericho, one; (F)the king of Ai, which is beside Bethel, one; 10 (G)the king of Jerusalem, one; (H)the king of Hebron, one; 11 (I)the king of Jarmuth, one; (J)the king of Lachish, one; 12 (K)the king of Eglon, one; (L)the king of Gezer, one; 13 (M)the king of Debir, one; the king of Geder, one; 14 the king of Hormah, one; the king of Arad, one; 15 (N)the king of Libnah, one; the king of Adullam, one; 16 (O)the king of Makkedah, one; (P)the king of Bethel, one; 17 the king of Tappuah, one; the king of Hepher, one; 18 the king of Aphek, one; the king of Lasharon, one; 19 (Q)the king of Madon, one; (R)the king of Hazor, one; 20 (S)the king of Shimron-meron, one; (T)the king of Achshaph, one; 21 (U)the king of Taanach, one; (V)the king of Megiddo, one; 22 the king of Kedesh, one; the king of Jokneam in Carmel, one; 23 (W)the king of Dor in (X)Naphath-dor, one; the king of Goiim in Galilee,[a] one; 24 the king of Tirzah, one: in all, thirty-one kings.
Land Still to Be Conquered
13 Now Joshua (Y)was old and advanced in years, and the Lord said to him, “You are old and advanced in years, and there remains yet very much land (Z)to possess. 2 (AA)This is the land that yet remains: all the (AB)regions of the Philistines, and all those of the Geshurites 3 (from the (AC)Shihor, which is east of Egypt, northward to the boundary of Ekron, it is counted as Canaanite; (AD)there are five rulers of the Philistines, those of Gaza, Ashdod, Ashkelon, Gath, and Ekron), and those of (AE)the Avvim, 4 in the south, all the land of the Canaanites, and Mearah that belongs to the Sidonians, to Aphek, to the boundary of (AF)the Amorites, 5 and the land of the (AG)Gebalites, and all Lebanon, toward the sunrise, from (AH)Baal-gad below Mount Hermon to (AI)Lebo-hamath, 6 all the inhabitants of the hill country from Lebanon to (AJ)Misrephoth-maim, even all the Sidonians. I myself will drive (AK)them out from before the people of Israel. Only (AL)allot the land to Israel (AM)for an inheritance, as I have commanded you. 7 Now therefore (AN)divide this land for an inheritance to the nine tribes and half the tribe of Manasseh.”

7 Here is a list of the kings of the land that Joshua and the Israelites conquered on the west side of the Jordan, from Baal Gad in the Valley of Lebanon(A) to Mount Halak, which rises toward Seir. Joshua gave their lands as an inheritance to the tribes of Israel according to their tribal divisions. 8 The lands included the hill country, the western foothills, the Arabah, the mountain slopes, the wilderness and the Negev.(B) These were the lands of the Hittites, Amorites, Canaanites, Perizzites, Hivites and Jebusites. These were the kings:(C)

Land Still to Be Taken
13 When Joshua had grown old,(AE) the Lord said to him, “You are now very old, and there are still very large areas of land to be taken over.
2 “This is the land that remains: all the regions of the Philistines(AF) and Geshurites,(AG) 3 from the Shihor River(AH) on the east of Egypt to the territory of Ekron(AI) on the north, all of it counted as Canaanite though held by the five Philistine rulers(AJ) in Gaza, Ashdod,(AK) Ashkelon,(AL) Gath and Ekron; the territory of the Avvites(AM) 4 on the south; all the land of the Canaanites, from Arah of the Sidonians as far as Aphek(AN) and the border of the Amorites;(AO) 5 the area of Byblos;(AP) and all Lebanon(AQ) to the east, from Baal Gad below Mount Hermon(AR) to Lebo Hamath.(AS)
6 “As for all the inhabitants of the mountain regions from Lebanon to Misrephoth Maim,(AT) that is, all the Sidonians, I myself will drive them out(AU) before the Israelites. Be sure to allocate this land to Israel for an inheritance, as I have instructed you,(AV) 7 and divide it as an inheritance(AW) among the nine tribes and half of the tribe of Manasseh.”

7 And these are the kings of the country which Joshua and the children of Israel smote on this side Jordan on the west, from Baalgad in the valley of Lebanon even unto the mount Halak, that goeth up to Seir; which Joshua gave unto the tribes of Israel for a possession according to their divisions;
8 In the mountains, and in the valleys, and in the plains, and in the springs, and in the wilderness, and in the south country; the Hittites, the Amorites, and the Canaanites, the Perizzites, the Hivites, and the Jebusites:
9 The king of Jericho, one; the king of Ai, which is beside Bethel, one;
10 The king of Jerusalem, one; the king of Hebron, one;
11 The king of Jarmuth, one; the king of Lachish, one;
12 The king of Eglon, one; the king of Gezer, one;
13 The king of Debir, one; the king of Geder, one;

13 Now Joshua was old and stricken in years; and the Lord said unto him, Thou art old and stricken in years, and there remaineth yet very much land to be possessed.
2 This is the land that yet remaineth: all the borders of the Philistines, and all Geshuri,
3 From Sihor, which is before Egypt, even unto the borders of Ekron northward, which is counted to the Canaanite: five lords of the Philistines; the Gazathites, and the Ashdothites, the Eshkalonites, the Gittites, and the Ekronites; also the Avites:
4 From the south, all the land of the Canaanites, and Mearah that is beside the Sidonians unto Aphek, to the borders of the Amorites:
5 And the land of the Giblites, and all Lebanon, toward the sunrising, from Baalgad under mount Hermon unto the entering into Hamath.
6 All the inhabitants of the hill country from Lebanon unto Misrephothmaim, and all the Sidonians, them will I drive out from before the children of Israel: only divide thou it by lot unto the Israelites for an inheritance, as I have commanded thee.
7 Now therefore divide this land for an inheritance unto the nine tribes, and the half tribe of Manasseh,
