⁵ Do not fear, for I am with you;
    I will bring your offspring from the east,
    and from the west I will gather you;^(A)
6 I will say to the north, “Give them up,”
    and to the south, “Do not withhold;
bring my sons from far away
    and my daughters from the end of the earth—^(B)
7 everyone who is called by my name,
    whom I created for my glory,
    whom I formed and made.”^(C)

¹ Why do the nations conspire
    and the peoples plot in vain?^(A)
2 The kings of the earth set themselves,
    and the rulers take counsel together,
    against the Lord and his anointed, saying,^(B)
3 “Let us burst their bonds apart
    and cast their cords from us.”

² When you pass through the waters, I will be with you,
    and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you;
when you walk through fire you shall not be burned,
    and the flame shall not consume you.^(A)

¹¹ O Lord, your hand is lifted up,
    but they do not see it.
Let them see your zeal for your people and be ashamed.
    Let the fire for your adversaries consume them.^(A)

¹ O God, do not keep silent;
    do not hold your peace or be still, O God!^(A)
2 Even now your enemies are in tumult;
    those who hate you have raised their heads.^(B)
3 They lay crafty plans against your people;
    they consult together against those you protect.^(C)
