⁴¹ Joshua subdued them from Kadesh Barnea^(A) to Gaza^(B) and from the whole region of Goshen^(C) to Gibeon.

¹⁶ So Joshua took this entire land: the hill country,^(A) all the Negev,^(B) the whole region of Goshen, the western foothills,^(C) the Arabah and the mountains of Israel with their foothills,

²³ And when the Lord sent you out from Kadesh Barnea,^(A) he said, “Go up and take possession^(B) of the land I have given you.” But you rebelled^(C) against the command of the Lord your God. You did not trust^(D) him or obey him.

¹⁹ and the borders of Canaan^(A) reached from Sidon^(B) toward Gerar^(C) as far as Gaza,^(D) and then toward Sodom, Gomorrah, Admah and Zeboyim,^(E) as far as Lasha.

Philip and the Ethiopian

²⁶ Now an angel^(A) of the Lord said to Philip,^(B) “Go south to the road—the desert road—that goes down from Jerusalem to Gaza.”

⁵ At Gibeon the Lord appeared^(A) to Solomon during the night in a dream,^(B) and God said, “Ask^(C) for whatever you want me to give you.”

¹⁷ These are the gold tumors the Philistines sent as a guilt offering to the Lord—one each^(A) for Ashdod, Gaza, Ashkelon, Gath and Ekron.
