¹¹ And as they fled before Israel, while they were ^(A)going down the ascent of Beth-horon, ^(B)the Lord threw down large stones from heaven on them as far as Azekah, and they died. There were more who died because of the hailstones than the sons of Israel killed with the sword.

²² Then the Lord said to Moses, “Stretch out your hand toward heaven, so that there may be ^(A)hail in all the land of Egypt, on man and beast and every plant of the field, in the land of Egypt.” ²³ Then Moses stretched out his staff toward heaven, and the ^(B)Lord sent thunder and hail, and fire ran down to the earth. And the Lord rained hail upon the land of Egypt. ²⁴ There was hail and fire flashing continually in the midst of the hail, very heavy hail, such as had never been in all the land of Egypt since it became a nation. ²⁵ The hail struck down everything that was in the field in all the land of Egypt, both man and beast. And the hail ^(C)struck down every plant of the field and broke every tree of the field. ^26 (D)Only in the land of Goshen, where the people of Israel were, was there no hail.

²¹ And ^(A)great hailstones, about one hundred pounds^[a] each, fell from heaven on people; and ^(B)they cursed God for ^(C)the plague of the hail, because the plague was so severe.

¹⁹ Then ^(A)God's temple in heaven was opened, and ^(B)the ark of his covenant was seen within his temple. There were flashes of lightning, rumblings,^[a] peals of thunder, an earthquake, and ^(C)heavy hail.

¹¹ say to those who smear it with whitewash that it shall fall! ^(A)There will be a deluge of rain, and you, O great hailstones, will fall, and a stormy wind break out.

³⁰ And the Lord ^(A)will cause his majestic voice to be heard and the descending blow of his arm to be seen, in furious anger ^(B)and a flame of devouring fire, with a cloudburst ^(C)and storm and hailstones.
