8 Now before they lay down, she came up to them on the roof, 9 and said to the men: (A)“I know that the Lord has given you the land, that (B)the terror of you has fallen on us, and that all the inhabitants of the land (C)are fainthearted because of you. 10 For we have heard how the Lord (D)dried up the water of the Red Sea for you when you came out of Egypt, and (E)what you did to the two kings of the Amorites who were on the other side of the Jordan, Sihon and Og, whom you (F)utterly destroyed. 11 And as soon as we (G)heard these things, (H)our hearts melted; neither did there remain any more courage in anyone because of you, for (I)the Lord your God, He is God in heaven above and on earth beneath.

8 The two men had not yet lain down when she returned to the roof 9 and said to them, “I know that Adonai has given you the land. Fear of you has fallen on us; everyone in the land is terrified at the thought of you. 10 We’ve heard how Adonai dried up the water in the Sea of Suf ahead of you, when you left Egypt; and what you did to the two kings of the Emori on the other side of the Yarden, Sichon and ‘Og, that you completely destroyed them. 11 As soon as we heard it, our hearts failed us. Because of you, everyone is in a state of depression. For Adonai your God — he is God in heaven above and on the earth below.

8 Before the spies lay down for the night, she went up on the roof(A) 9 and said to them, “I know that the Lord has given you this land and that a great fear(B) of you has fallen on us, so that all who live in this country are melting in fear because of you. 10 We have heard how the Lord dried up(C) the water of the Red Sea[a] for you when you came out of Egypt,(D) and what you did to Sihon and Og,(E) the two kings of the Amorites(F) east of the Jordan,(G) whom you completely destroyed.[b](H) 11 When we heard of it, our hearts melted in fear(I) and everyone’s courage failed(J) because of you,(K) for the Lord your God(L) is God in heaven above and on the earth(M) below.
