Jonah 4:6-8
New International Version
6 Then the Lord God provided(A) a leafy plant[a] and made it grow up over Jonah to give shade for his head to ease his discomfort, and Jonah was very happy about the plant. 7 But at dawn the next day God provided a worm, which chewed the plant so that it withered.(B) 8 When the sun rose, God provided a scorching east wind, and the sun blazed on Jonah’s head so that he grew faint. He wanted to die,(C) and said, “It would be better for me to die than to live.”

And Jonah [c]was overjoyed about the plant. 7 But God designated a worm when dawn came the next day, and it attacked the plant and it (A)withered. 8 And when the sun came up God designated a scorching (B)east wind, and the (C)sun beat down on Jonah’s head so that he became faint, and he begged with all his soul to die, saying, “(D)Death is better to me than life!”
