⁶ And the Lord God prepared a ^[a]plant and made it come up over Jonah, that it might be shade for his head to deliver him from his misery. So Jonah ^[b]was very grateful for the plant.

³⁰ those who weep as though they did not weep, those who rejoice as though they did not rejoice, those who buy as though they did not possess,

²⁰ Nevertheless do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but ^[a]rather rejoice because ^(A)your names are written in heaven.”

Jonah’s Prayer and Deliverance

¹⁷ Now the Lord had prepared a great fish to swallow Jonah. And ^(A)Jonah was in the belly of the fish three days and three nights.

^2 (A)And Hezekiah was pleased with them, and showed them the house of his treasures—the silver and gold, the spices and precious ointment, and all his armory—all that was found among his treasures. There was nothing in his house or in all his dominion that Hezekiah did not show them.

Haman’s Plot Against Mordecai

⁹ So Haman went out that day ^(A)joyful and with a glad heart; but when Haman saw Mordecai in the king’s gate, and ^(B)that he did not stand or tremble before him, he was filled with indignation against Mordecai.
