Jonah 1:3-5
English Standard Version
3 But Jonah (A)rose to flee to (B)Tarshish from the presence of the Lord. He went down to (C)Joppa and found a ship going to (D)Tarshish. So he paid the fare and went down into it, to go with them to (E)Tarshish, (F)away from the presence of the Lord.
4 But (G)the Lord hurled a great wind upon the sea, and there was a mighty tempest on the sea, so that the ship threatened (H)to break up. 5 Then the mariners were afraid, and (I)each cried out to his god. And (J)they hurled the cargo that was in the ship into the sea to lighten it for them. But Jonah had gone down into the inner part of the ship and had lain down and was fast asleep.

New International Version
3 But Jonah ran(A) away from the Lord and headed for Tarshish(B). He went down to Joppa,(C) where he found a ship bound for that port. After paying the fare, he went aboard and sailed for Tarshish to flee from the Lord.(D)
4 Then the Lord sent a great wind on the sea, and such a violent storm arose that the ship threatened to break up.(E) 5 All the sailors were afraid and each cried out to his own god. And they threw the cargo into the sea to lighten the ship.(F)
But Jonah had gone below deck, where he lay down and fell into a deep sleep.
