¹⁵ So they picked up Jonah and threw him into the sea, ^(A)and the sea ceased from its raging.

²⁴ And they came to Him and awoke Him, saying, “Master, Master, we are perishing!”

Then He arose and rebuked the wind and the raging of the water. And they ceased, and there was a calm.

²⁶ But He said to them, “Why are you fearful, O you of little faith?” Then ^(A)He arose and rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was a great calm.

⁸ So the king took Armoni and Mephibosheth, the two sons of ^(A)Rizpah the daughter of Aiah, whom she bore to Saul, and the five sons of ^[a]Michal the daughter of Saul, whom she ^[b]brought up for Adriel the son of Barzillai the Meholathite; ⁹ and he delivered them into the hands of the Gibeonites, and they hanged them on the hill ^(B)before the Lord. So they fell, all seven together, and were put to death in the days of harvest, in the first days, in the beginning of barley harvest.

²⁴ Then Joshua, and all Israel with him, took Achan the son of Zerah, the silver, the garment, the wedge of gold, his sons, his daughters, his oxen, his donkeys, his sheep, his tent, and ^(A)all that he had, and they brought them to ^(B)the Valley of Achor. ²⁵ And Joshua said, ^(C)“Why have you troubled us? The Lord will trouble you this day.” ^(D)So all Israel stoned him with stones; and they burned them with fire after they had stoned them with stones.

²⁶ Then they ^(E)raised over him a great heap of stones, still there to this day. So ^(F)the Lord turned from the fierceness of His anger. Therefore the name of that place has been called ^(G)the Valley of ^[a]Achor to this day.
