8 Every person and animal must put on sackcloth. Cry loudly to Elohim for help. Turn from your wicked ways and your acts of violence. 9 Who knows? Elohim may reconsider his plans and turn from his burning anger so that we won’t die.”
10 Elohim saw what they did. He saw that they turned from their wicked ways. So Elohim reconsidered his threat to destroy them, and he didn’t do it.

New International Version
8 But let people and animals be covered with sackcloth. Let everyone call(A) urgently on God. Let them give up(B) their evil ways(C) and their violence.(D) 9 Who knows?(E) God may yet relent(F) and with compassion turn(G) from his fierce anger(H) so that we will not perish.”
10 When God saw what they did and how they turned from their evil ways, he relented(I) and did not bring on them the destruction(J) he had threatened.(K)
