5 (A)Then Jesus lifted up His eyes, and seeing a great multitude coming toward Him, He said to (B)Philip, “Where shall we buy bread, that these may eat?” 6 But this He said to test him, for He Himself knew what He would do.
7 Philip answered Him, (C)“Two hundred denarii worth of bread is not sufficient for them, that every one of them may have a little.”
8 One of His disciples, (D)Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother, said to Him, 9 “There is a lad here who has five barley loaves and two small fish, (E)but what are they among so many?”

5 Then Jesus, when he looked up[a] and saw that a large crowd was coming to him, said to Philip, “Where can we buy bread so that these people may eat?” 6 (Now Jesus[b] said this to test him, for he knew what he was going to do.)[c] 7 Philip replied,[d] “200 silver coins worth[e] of bread would not be enough for them, for each one to get a little.” 8 One of Jesus’ disciples,[f] Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother, said to him, 9 “Here is a boy who has five barley loaves and two fish, but what good[g] are these for so many people?”
