3 Li mache alatèt ploton sòlda women yo ak gad tanp lan, chèf prèt yo ak Farizyen yo te voye vin arete Jezi. Yo antre nan jaden an ak dife, lanp epi ak zam.
4 Poutèt Jezi te konnen tout sa k te gen pou rive, li avanse sou yo epi l mande yo: “Kimoun n ap chache?”
5 Yo reponn li: “Jezi, moun Nazarèt la.”
Li di yo: “Se mwen menm.”[a] Jida ki t ap trayi l la te avèk yo. 6 Kou Jezi di yo: “Se mwen menm,” yo fè bak epi yo tonbe atè.
7 Jezi mande yo ankò: “Ki moun n ap chache?”
Yo reponn: “Jezi, moun Nazarèt la.”
8 Jezi reponn yo: “Mwen di nou se mwen. Si se mwen n ap chache, kite moun sa yo ale.” 9 Se kon sa pawòl Jezi te di a te dwe akonpli: “Mwen pa pèdi okenn nan sa ou te ban mwen yo.”
10 Lè sa a, Simon Pyè te gen yon nepe, li rale l, li fè yon kou sou sèvitè Chèf prèt la, zòrèy dwat la koupe. Sèvitè sa a te rele Malkis. 11 Men, Jezi di Pyè: “Mete nepe a nan fouwo l tande! Èske m pa dwe pran mezi soufrans[b] Papa a ban mwen an?”

3 So Judas came to the garden, guiding(A) a detachment of soldiers and some officials from the chief priests and the Pharisees.(B) They were carrying torches, lanterns and weapons.
4 Jesus, knowing all that was going to happen to him,(C) went out and asked them, “Who is it you want?”(D)
5 “Jesus of Nazareth,”(E) they replied.
“I am he,” Jesus said. (And Judas the traitor was standing there with them.) 6 When Jesus said, “I am he,” they drew back and fell to the ground.
7 Again he asked them, “Who is it you want?”(F)
“Jesus of Nazareth,” they said.
8 Jesus answered, “I told you that I am he. If you are looking for me, then let these men go.” 9 This happened so that the words he had spoken would be fulfilled: “I have not lost one of those you gave me.”[a](G)
10 Then Simon Peter, who had a sword, drew it and struck the high priest’s servant, cutting off his right ear. (The servant’s name was Malchus.)
11 Jesus commanded Peter, “Put your sword away! Shall I not drink the cup(H) the Father has given me?”
