6 Hubo un hombre enviado por Dios que se llamaba Juan. 7 Él vino como testimonio, a fin de dar testimonio de la luz para que todos creyeran por medio de él. 8 No era él la luz sino que vino para dar testimonio de la luz. 9 Aquel era la luz verdadera que alumbra a todo hombre que viene al mundo.

5 The light shines in the darkness,(A) and the darkness has not overcome[a] it.(B)
6 There was a man sent from God whose name was John.(C) 7 He came as a witness to testify(D) concerning that light, so that through him all might believe.(E) 8 He himself was not the light; he came only as a witness to the light.
9 The true light(F) that gives light to everyone(G) was coming into the world.
