7 “Go,” he told him, “wash in the pool of Siloam”(A) (which means “Sent”). So he left, washed, and came back seeing.(B)
8 His neighbors and those who had seen him before as a beggar said, “Isn’t this the one who used to sit begging?” 9 Some said, “He’s the one.” Others were saying, “No, but he looks like him.”
He kept saying, “I’m the one.”

8 His neighbors and those who had formerly seen him begging asked, “Isn’t this the same man who used to sit and beg?”(C) 9 Some claimed that he was.
Others said, “No, he only looks like him.”
But he himself insisted, “I am the man.”
