³⁷ Jesus said, “You have now seen him; in fact, he is the one speaking with you.”^(A)

²⁶ Then Jesus declared, “I, the one speaking to you—I am he.”^(A)

²¹ Whoever has my commands and keeps them is the one who loves me.^(A) The one who loves me will be loved by my Father,^(B) and I too will love them and show myself to them.”

²² Then Judas^(C) (not Judas Iscariot) said, “But, Lord, why do you intend to show yourself to us and not to the world?”^(D)

²³ Jesus replied, “Anyone who loves me will obey my teaching.^(E) My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them.^(F)

¹⁷ Anyone who chooses to do the will of God will find out^(A) whether my teaching comes from God or whether I speak on my own.

The Father Revealed in the Son^(A)

²⁵ At that time Jesus said, “I praise you, Father,^(B) Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children.^(C)

³¹ and said, ‘Cornelius, God has heard your prayer and remembered your gifts to the poor. ³² Send to Joppa for Simon who is called Peter. He is a guest in the home of Simon the tanner, who lives by the sea.’ ³³ So I sent for you immediately, and it was good of you to come. Now we are all here in the presence of God to listen to everything the Lord has commanded you to tell us.”

¹¹ He replied, “Because the knowledge of the secrets of the kingdom of heaven^(A) has been given to you,^(B) but not to them. ¹² Whoever has will be given more, and they will have an abundance. Whoever does not have, even what they have will be taken from them.^(C)
