²⁹ The Lord is far from the wicked,
    but he hears the prayer of the righteous.^(A)

¹⁵ When you spread out your hands^(A) in prayer,
    I hide^(B) my eyes from you;
even when you offer many prayers,
    I am not listening.^(C)

Your hands^(D) are full of blood!^(E)

⁹ If anyone turns a deaf ear to my instruction,
    even their prayers are detestable.^(A)

⁴ Then they will cry out to the Lord,
    but he will not answer them.^(A)
At that time he will hide his face^(B) from them
    because of the evil they have done.^(C)

¹⁹ He fulfills the desires^(A) of those who fear him;^(B)
    he hears their cry^(C) and saves them.^(D)

²⁸ “Then they will call to me but I will not answer;^(A)
    they will look for me but will not find me,^(B)
29 since they hated knowledge
    and did not choose to fear the Lord.^(C)

¹⁵ The eyes of the Lord^(A) are on the righteous,^(B)
    and his ears are attentive^(C) to their cry;
¹⁶ but the face of the Lord is against^(D) those who do evil,^(E)
    to blot out their name^(F) from the earth.
