The Jews Guilty as the Gentiles

^17 [a]Indeed ^(A)you are called a Jew, and ^(B)rest^[b] on the law, ^(C)and make your boast in God,

^23 (A)who, when He was reviled, did not revile in return; when He suffered, He did not threaten, but ^(B)committed Himself to Him who judges righteously;

¹⁰ nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God.

^12 (A)And we labor, working with our own hands. ^(B)Being reviled, we bless; being persecuted, we endure;

^11 (A)Then they secretly induced men to say, “We have heard him speak blasphemous words against Moses and God.” ¹² And they stirred up the people, the elders, and the scribes; and they came upon him, seized him, and brought him to the council. ¹³ They also set up false witnesses who said, “This man does not cease to speak ^[a]blasphemous words against this holy place and the law; ^14 (B)for we have heard him say that this Jesus of Nazareth will destroy this place and change the customs which Moses delivered to us.”

³⁴ They answered and said to him, ^(A)“You were completely born in sins, and are you teaching us?” And they ^[a]cast him out.

⁴⁷ Then the Pharisees answered them, “Are you also deceived? ⁴⁸ Have any of the rulers or the Pharisees believed in Him? ⁴⁹ But this crowd that does not know the law is accursed.”

⁵⁰ Nicodemus ^(A)(he who came to ^[a]Jesus ^[b]by night, being one of them) said to them, ^51 (B)“Does our law judge a man before it hears him and knows what he is doing?”

⁵² They answered and said to him, “Are you also from Galilee? Search and look, for ^(C)no prophet ^[c]has arisen out of Galilee.”

^19 (A)Did not Moses give you the law, yet none of you keeps the law? ^(B)Why do you seek to kill Me?”
