Jesus Heals a Man Born Blind

9 As Jesus was walking along, he saw a man who had been born blind. ²His disciples asked him, “Teacher, whose sin caused him to be born blind? Was it his own or his parents' sin?”

³Jesus answered, “His blindness has nothing to do with his sins or his parents' sins. He is blind so that God's power might be seen at work in him.

9 As he went along, he saw a man blind from birth. ²His disciples asked him, “Rabbi,^(A) who sinned,^(B) this man^(C) or his parents,^(D) that he was born blind?”

³“Neither this man nor his parents sinned,” said Jesus, “but this happened so that the works of God might be displayed in him.^(E)
