⁴⁴ You are of your father the devil,^(A) and you want to carry out your father’s desires. He was a murderer^(B) from the beginning^(C) and does not stand in the truth,^(D) because there is no truth in him. When he tells a lie, he speaks from his own nature,^[a] because he is a liar and the father of lies.

¹⁴ Leave them alone! They are blind guides.^[a] And if the blind guide the blind, both will fall into a pit.”^(A)

¹¹ The name of the star is Wormwood,^(A) and a third of the waters became wormwood. So, many of the people died from the waters, because they had been made bitter.

⁴ For if a person comes and preaches another Jesus,^(A) whom we did not preach, or you receive a different spirit,^(B) which you had not received, or a different gospel,^(C) which you had not accepted, you put up with it splendidly!
