³⁵ And ^(A)a slave does not abide in the house forever, but a son abides forever.

¹⁰ Therefore she said to Abraham, ^(A)“Cast out this bondwoman and her son; for the son of this bondwoman shall not be heir with my son, namely with Isaac.”

⁴ But ^(A)when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, ^(B)born^{[a] (C)}of a woman, ^(D)born under the law, ^5 (E)to redeem those who were under the law, ^(F)that we might receive the adoption as sons.

⁶ And because you are sons, God has sent forth ^(G)the Spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying out, ^[b]“Abba, Father!” ⁷ Therefore you are no longer a slave but a son, ^(H)and if a son, then an heir ^[c]of God ^[d]through Christ.

³⁰ Nevertheless what does ^(A)the Scripture say? ^(B)“Cast out the bondwoman and her son, for ^(C)the son of the bondwoman shall not be heir with the son of the freewoman.” ³¹ So then, brethren, we are not children of the bondwoman but of the free.

¹⁵ For ^(A)you did not receive the spirit of bondage again ^(B)to fear, but you received the ^(C)Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, ^(D)“Abba,^[a] Father.” ^16 (E)The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, ¹⁷ and if children, then ^(F)heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, ^(G)if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together.

³¹ “And he said to him, ‘Son, you are always with me, and all that I have is yours.

^5 (A)And Moses indeed was faithful in all His house as ^(B)a servant, ^(C)for a testimony of those things which would be spoken afterward, ⁶ but Christ as ^(D)a Son over His own house, ^(E)whose house we are ^(F)if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope ^[a]firm to the end.

^3 (A)For you died, ^(B)and your life is hidden with Christ in God.

Indwelling of the Father and the Son

¹⁹ “A little while longer and the world will see Me no more, but ^(A)you will see Me. ^(B)Because I live, you will live also. ²⁰ At that day you will know that ^(C)I am in My Father, and you in Me, and I in you.
