³² Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”^(A)

² because through Christ Jesus^(A) the law of the Spirit who gives life^(B) has set you^[a] free^(C) from the law of sin^(D) and death.

³⁶ So if the Son sets you free,^(A) you will be free indeed.

¹⁶ Live as free people,^(A) but do not use your freedom as a cover-up for evil;^(B) live as God’s slaves.^(C)

⁶ Jesus answered, “I am^(A) the way^(B) and the truth^(C) and the life.^(D) No one comes to the Father except through me.^(E)

²² But now that you have been set free from sin^(A) and have become slaves of God,^(B) the benefit you reap leads to holiness, and the result is eternal life.^(C)

¹⁴ For sin shall no longer be your master,^(A) because you are not under the law,^(B) but under grace.^(C)

Slaves to Righteousness

¹⁵ What then? Shall we sin because we are not under the law but under grace?^(D) By no means! ¹⁶ Don’t you know that when you offer yourselves to someone as obedient slaves, you are slaves of the one you obey^(E)—whether you are slaves to sin,^(F) which leads to death,^(G) or to obedience, which leads to righteousness? ¹⁷ But thanks be to God^(H) that, though you used to be slaves to sin,^(I) you have come to obey from your heart the pattern of teaching^(J) that has now claimed your allegiance. ¹⁸ You have been set free from sin^(K) and have become slaves to righteousness.^(L)
